He paid 400 dollars for it in the Dalles Oregon.

1953 Indian Chief Chopper84 viewsThis was my 53 Indian '80' Chief.
It had a 12 over front end with no rake.
Large pull back handle bars.
Suicide shift, foot clutch, no front brake, fun, fun, fun.
Corbin Gentry King and Queen seat.

Left side of my '80' engine73 viewsYou can see the shifter coming off the transmission tower in the back.
The carb was on the left which is the kickstand side.
When you started the bike you would kick it over once to prime it.
Then you would tilt the bike to the right to get the gas out of the carb and into the cylinders.
Turn on the key, retard the spark, kick it over once, advance the spark, and ride away.

Right side of '80' engine66 viewsThat square thing between and below the jugs is the gravity feed oil pump.
The front sprocket had 28 teeth as oppose to the stock 26 tooth sprocket.
You would almost stall the bike taking off in first.
In 3rd gear though, you could cruise doing 80mph by ruining the throttle just above idle.
